40th Anniversary Celebration

For over four decades, Macon Arts Alliance has been promoting, creating and expanding arts programming in Macon and Central Georgia. Currently, we manage the Macon365 community calendar, sell local art in the Gallery at 486 First Street, host Fired Works and Fire & Ice, two large ceramic festivals – including glass artists in the fall. We created the Macon Mural Festival. We support and fund 478 Creatives, a local artist network led by Cara Heard and Erin Hawkins. We host the annual Cultural Awards each October – recognizing artists, arts patrons and arts funders who have made a significant contribution to the arts. We manage the Mill Hill Community Arts Center. We are spearheading the implementation of the 2020 Cultural Plan for Macon, a Knight funded blueprint for using creativity to solve community problems. We led the recent study of Macon’s music ecosystem – resulting in 16 actionable steps to sustain and grow the music industry in Macon.

We want to do more! We want to keep creativity at the forefront of community development. We want everyone to have access to quality arts programming and education. We want creatives to choose Macon. We want to brand Macon as a vibrant, creative destination for tourists. We want to expand arts audiences across the board.

We need your help! Join Macon Arts Alliance. Donate to our mission. Join our Artist Network. Visit the Gallery on First Friday for the opening of our monthly exhibit.

Thank you to Dunwody Beeland Architects, Georgia Power, If It’s Paper, Piedmont Macon Healthcare  and The Powers Family Foundation for sponsoring our 40th Anniversary weekend in May 2025.
