MACON ARTS ALLIANCE – Joie Debris, art beyond waste

Submissions accepted May 15 – June 30. Show dates August 7 – 28. Opening reception August 7 from 4-7 PM.
This exhibit explores the beauty, creativity, and possibilities found in discarded materials.
Submissions may be preliminary investigative work, experimental work, or finished products
Submissions may be either 2D or 3D work. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for review.

    • Material Composition: The majority of the artwork must be made from materials that were intended for the trash or recycling bin, such as plastics, paper, metal, glass, textiles, or salvaged items.

    • Minimal New Material: While adhesives, paints, or armatures may be used, they should not be the primary component of the work.

    • Safety Standards: Materials should generally be clean and safe – NO hazardous waste, dangerous items, or rotten items may be included. The work will be on display for 3 weeks.

    • 2D work should not exceed 48” x 60” and/or 25 pounds. ALL 2D work must be wired for hanging.

    • 3D work must fit on a 16” x 16” pedestal and be able to stand on their own or be wired for hanging and not exceed the dimensions above.

    • Applicants are encouraged to include a short bio and statement about the work.

    • Accepted work must be priced and titled by the artist. Work may be shipped or hand-delivered to the gallery. If shipping, postage must be pre-paid and include a return shipping label.

    • Entries must be available for sale at Macon Arts Gallery during the show dates using a 60% (artist) / 40% (gallery) commission formula. Work will also be available for sale at maconarts.org/shop.

    • The deadline for applying is June 30, 2026, and all accepted work must be delivered to the Gallery on Friday, July 31 or Saturday, August 1 between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Artists Collective Spartanburg 8th Annual Juried Exhibition. Registration/Submissions July 1 – 31, 2026. Exhibition dates September 1 – October 24, 2026. Entry fee $40. Cash prizes up to $2,500.
